Alltel to Verizon
 

Did a search here, but can't find any answers...

Can the Alltel version of the TP be flashed to use with Verizon, and what are the major differences between the Sprint version and the Alltel version?

And I suppose more importantly, is Alltel still giving out their version or the watered down Vz version now?

I see that Alltel has the TP online for $199.99 and was thinking of just xfering my number to Alltel (only to have it switched back to Verizon in a few months anyway once the merger is complete) Or should I just try and get a Sprint TP on ebay or elsewhere?


Any comments, thoughts, things I should be concerned about?

I can't imagine why not. Should use the same steps as the Sprint, with the exception being you would not have to change the unlock code to "000000" since I believe alltel phones already come that way. There is a tutorial on the Sprint conversion, check that out, but try at your own risk as always

I had a friend who worked for Verizon and they did their year end inventory count and he came out with like 5 extra Razrs. I got one from him and activated on Alltel with no problems. This was like 5-6 years ago though... It was the last phone I had before joining the PPC community. I don't think you will have a problem. Especially considering that Verizon now owns Alltel.
