Will the TP be the right phone for me? email questions!

I ordered a TP last week and it will be here tomorrow (Verizon). I'm worried about whether or not it will be the right phone for me. I currently have a Nextel Blackberry Curve 8350i. I love how the Blackberries handle email, but I love all the rest of the functions that other PPC phones have. One thing that made me pick the TP is the fact that it has a touch screen AND a full Qwerty keyboard. I'm just not sure if it will perform to my expectations with email. I don't want to have to go download my email messages periodically. I'm wanting it to notify me when I have new mail. I have 3 Gmail accounts, and an email account from my own domain that I want to setup on the phone. Will I have to go out and download the messages (check my email), or will it notify me when I have a new message in my inbox?

If it does not do what I want, I will probably return it for a Blackberry storm, though I don't like the fact that it doesn't have an actual keyboard.

You will be notified when new e-mails arrive, you can set it to send/recieve every 5mins.............i dont think you would want a storm...

I don't think I want the Storm either. It looks like they rushed it out to compete with all the other touchscreen phones.

I think once you experience all that the WM platform can do, you'll keep your TP. I was a BB user for three years until I made the switch to WM about 16 months ago. Haven't looked back. Welcome to Geekdom

Having it pull email every 5minutes ill be a battery drainer.
Something you'll want to save on this phone.

I use Seven but IIRC it has a limit of 3 accounts.
Messeages sometimes show up before they do on my desktop in Thunderbird.
