time out question

in the TP's today settings (start>settings>items) there is an option for the "today timeout", you can set this for different times. Defaullt is every 4 hours......what does changing this value do? ie going from every 4 hrs to 1 hour????

if im not mistaken, after that amount of time, if your phone is in a specific program, it will timeout/change to the home/today screen. There are multiple views on what it does/doesnt do/supposed to do. If you do a google search, youll see what im talking about.
