Disable character count in threaded SMS (title bar)?

Is there any way to disable this? I have a feeling it is related to the keyboard lag that many of us are experiencing, and I'd like to try turning it off. I've poked around the registry and wasn't able to come up with anything.

As it turns out, disabling VistaHide Battery Gauge dramatically improved the speed of the KB (much less lag) when typing an SMS message... Give it a shot, if you're running it.

^^^^ not running it, unless it was built in to a custom rom and i didnt know. what exactly does that hide thing do?

no its just a battery bar on the top of the screen kinda like SPB does

i can almost assure you a 6kb battery bar isnt the source of keyboard lag

yeh now that I think of it, even when i do a hard reset of a stock sprint rom, the lag exists by nature

can somebody compare coddyppc's threaded registry entries to the threaded in wm6.1 ? because coddys is essenctially the same thing but with no lag and shows total sms messages count
