A question about Touch Pro

I'm getting a Pocket PC Phone soon and I'm thinking between 2 choices (Omina and Touch Pro). I have seen many reviews and done some research on these 2 phones and pretty made up my mind on getting Touch Pro till I stumbled upon the overheating issue on this forum which many people is complaining about and it confuses me.

After reading several threads about the heating issue, I have a question in mind: As described by some forum members, it seems quite bad to me (e.g. web surfing for 5 mins causes the phone to become too hot) while others is ok with the heat. So, exactly how bad is the overheating issue? Is it still worth getting it because of the heat? I don't want a phone that gives me a headache all the time.

Re: A question about Touch Pro

Well lets just say with my TP, after a about 10-15min of talk time, I cant have the phone touching my ear/face, I have to place it about 1/2 inch, but still you can feel the heat and I find myself switching the phone back and forth between ears to let the other cool off.

Other then that it is a great phone, once you tweak it out....roms..etc..

Re: A question about Touch Pro

I have had no overheating problems with my TP. Does it sometimes get a little warm? Yes, but nowhere near as warm as some of the transformer bricks (chargers) I have.

The TP charger on AC gets much hotter than the phone ever does.

Re: A question about Touch Pro

It gets warm but nothing to worry about. Feels like a warm charge.

Re: A question about Touch Pro

if you're planning on getting the pro and you're on verizon.. just keep in mind you won't have as good of an experience as the rest of us on other carriers... you'll probably have to disable touchflo cause of the lack of RAM in the vzn version... just watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ej_BENjjeb8 (found by exil3d).
if you plan on disabling touchflo and you don't care that the phone isn't as good as it was supposed to be (by example of the other carriers), then maybe it'll work for u. i haven't really researched the omnia, but from people i've talked to.. they said they'd take the omnia over the vzn pro. hope u make the best decision for you.

But it doesn't get so hot that your can't have it touching your ear, right?

Actually, I'm not concern about it getting a bit warm (hot?) but I'm more concern about some comments that it get so hot they have to shut it down, put it near the fan or something to cool it down after a few mins of using which sounds kinda like they are exaggerating which I hope they are. Since overheating causes phone to breakdown easily, which will cause me to visit the service center frequently, well that's what I'm afraid of.

About which model will I be getting, I think it will be the one without the reduction of RAM since I'm not from US.

It does get pretty warm in the hand, I guess it just matters how sensitive your ears/face are to heat, if you can tolerate it by all mean get one, but like the other member "lcbster" stated if it is between Verizons Omina and TP.....go Omina.
