Data Connection not closing need help

I have a HTC Pro through sprint. I just got the phone a about 10 days ago. I do have the unlimited data plan with sprint. When I open a browser or anything that goes out to the internet my phone automatically estbalishes a connection. When I am done it does not shut off the data connection I have to maually do that by going to the Communicaiton Manager and clicking data connection. Well this use to work but here lately it has stopped working. Now when I click Data connection in the communication manager it opens the settings for connections. Does anyone know what is wrong or can help me. Right now the only way for me to close data is to soft reset the phone. Talk about pain.

If anyone from sprint on here it would be nice to have an easier way to close data connection.

Thanks

Re: Data Connection not closing need help

the easiest way is to setup a disconnection timeout period. search around here for a program called diamond tweak and change the connection timeout setting. there is also a tweak to place a "disconnect" button on the data bubble. both those are good solutions to the problem. you may have also installed a program or activated something that keeps the data connection alive (like a weather program that uses up to date information, an RSS program, stocks.... etc.) this may be why it does not completely disconnect.

Re: Data Connection not closing need help

Not that I noticed it stays connected. Also I like to preserve battery life and don't like something running if I ain't using it.

Thanks

Re: Data Connection not closing need help

That is correct I don't have any push mail set up. Not for sure if Battery is bad or not. I just got the phone a few days ago and the battery does not last near as long as my old Treo 700wx phone. But from what I can tell from other post is that seems to be the knock on the phone.

Also do you by chance have a copy of sktool I searched the boards but can't find reference on where to get it at as well as Diamond Tweek.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Data Connection not closing need help

It takes several days for the battery to adjust and start giving you some good juice.

Try using the google search within ppcgeeks, it works better
