wmwifirouter .91 now working but usb tethering not

hello all... I have a problem. I have finally gotten wmwifrouter to work for me by doing all the necessary changes to the ICS. Now that the wmwifirouter works I cannot tether via USB cord. What is wrong? ICS connects and everything but on my computer i won't get an internet connection. Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated.

Simply, Version .91 which is freeware does not support usb connections. Only the 1.0 and higher "retail paid" version allows you to connect in various ways including USB. Plus the lastest paid verison now supports wep. WMwifirouter .91 can only be use as a wifi hotspot.

Considering that was the last freeware one, it was written to turn your phone into a wireless access point - completely understandable.

Re: wmwifirouter .91 now working but usb tethering not

rhaley10,

I use wmwifirouter and i can tether just fine. The IP addresses get assigned differently by each program...

wmwifirouter does change the assigned IP under the Remote NDIS setting so only it (wmwifirouter) will work, though the settings below should ensure that all work (wmwifi, usb tether, Bluetooth tether)

go to settings-connections-wifi-network adapters
then go to remote NDIS HOST

use the settings below for USB tethering to work:

169.254.1.169
255.255.255.0
gateway: leave blank

For Bluetooth. go to the "Bluetooth PAN Driver"

use the settings below for Bluetooth tethering to work:

192.168.0.1
255.255.255.0
gateway: leave blank

if it works, perhaps you can thank me
