Question ICS fix & texts induced data con

I installed the vzw ics fix cab and when I recieve or send a text message it makes & keeps a data connection unless I explicitly go into conn manager.

Once I deleted the ICS fix induced program item, things went back to normal, I send or recieve a text a 1x briefly temporarily shows & thats it, back to previous state.

Its not a big issue, I have an unlimited plan but still the thought is annoying, I get frequent notifications by txt and a data connection IMO can mean extra unneeded battery drain not to mention if I didn't start it I don't want it happening automatically..

Any fixes on the fix or suggestions??? I allready made a mention on original post & not a peep yet.

Thanks

Re: ICS fix & texts induced data con

Texts are sent in 1x mode. It is normal for the phone to switch to 1x when sending or receiving text messages.
So, nothing is going wrong at all.

I agree, all four of my PPC's (three Titan's & a TouchPro) do the exact same thing.

Re: ICS fix & texts induced data con

Yes but after installing the cab it would make and keep a data connection going from 1x to evdo. Meaning I'd have to explicitly disconnect a data connection.

I resolved this actually by making the dun address alteration as prescribed in original thread.
