Is there a difference between clear storage and manual hard reset?

I always use the clear storage function but did not know if there was a difference.

No difference. Clear Storage is just sometimes easier.

I used the clear storage and it didn't delete my pictures.

A lot of times pictures are stored on the memory card, so they would not be affected by a hard reset

i think its because your pics are probably stored on your memory card, thats why they didnt get deleted.
