Question How do you get more than 100ma via USB?

I've done extensive research on this and in theory the device is supposed to ask the computer for more power if it needs more than the default 100ma. I've checked my device manager and it always shows 100ma on every computer. If I have activesync enabled and the screen on, the device slowly dies while plugged in to my PC.

Is anyone else able to get 500ma out of the computer to the Touch Pro?

Sorry I can't help you, but I was under the impression that a USB port put out 500ma, where can you go in your PC to check the output of the USB port?

I have no problem charging the Touch Pro via computer with Active Sync enabled. You need to connect directly to the USB in back of the computer if you are experiencing power loss.

In device manager, looks at all your USB Root Hub devices in the Power tab. One will have your windows mobile device and showing the power being sent to it. I've attached a screenshot.

I've tethered to my phone right now to type this and it's not even charging. I know it uses more power when it's tethering though.

Are you using a special driver? Can you post a screen shot of the window? I thought the max USB can provide is 500ma...

Re: How do you get more than 100ma via USB?

All I know is I can plug my TP into my laptop to sync, and it will charge my phone from dead to full in about an hour. Even quicker on my main PC.

I connected with Active Sync and also see 100mA used... this was through the front USB port.... and when I try a rear USB port (direct to mobo), I still see 100mA.

Re: How do you get more than 100ma via USB?

I meant a screen shot from your PC showing the power it's sending the deivce.

Is the rapid charge driver available own its own without the ROM?
