Disable TP volume control dialog?

Does anyone know how to disable the new volume control dialog??? It's really annoying having to wait for it to time-out every time you adjust the volume during video playback ...

Re: Disable TP volume control dialog?

You can just tap anywhere on the screen and it will go back to where you were. If that makes any sense

Re: Disable TP volume control dialog?

I think I may have already known that but thanks ...
I really wish I could completely disable it tho ... Even if you tap the screen right away it still takes time to draw the volume control screen and it takes time to redraw whatever was behind it ...

It really doesn't make sense to me that a dialog like that should come up when you use the hard volume buttons .... why do you need an on-screen interface when you have hardware buttons right there :P if I want an on-screen interface ill tap the volume icon ...

Hopefully we can figure this one out with a reg edit or something ...

Re: Disable TP volume control dialog?

Well you can get rid of it by cooking a fresh ROM and just excluding it in the kitchen ... If I knew more about the kitchen I would look for the .RGU and InitFlashFiles.txt to find out how to remove HTC Volume Control without having to cook a new ROM ... I just downloaded the kitchen two days ago tho ... still learning

Maybe someone with a bit more experience could tell me where to look ... I would be glad to reflash the stock sprint ROM to try and find a way to remove the volume control without cooking and post the method here ...

Re: Disable TP volume control dialog?

I think the answer it to either delete or modify the following registry setting....
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\BootLauncher\Servic es\HTCVOLUME
"Module"="\Windows\HTCVolumeControl.dll"

If you delete Module or just change the text to "\_Windows\HTCVolumeControl.dll" then it won't be able to load the DLL and you will be partially free of the volume screen.

Unfortunately, the regular volume dialog still pops up when the volume buttons are pressed. I am still looking for a way to get rid of that... If anyone knows ... Please share!!
