Long key press application launch?

Ok, I'm sorry for asking this because I'm sure there's an answer out there, but none of the ones I've found have been very simple.

All I want to do is launch a program when I hold down my back arrow key (just like voice command is launched with the long phone key press.)

Can anyone show me a simple way to do this? Thank you.

There might be a registry edit, but I know of none...

Re: Long key press application launch?

I said in the other thread...

Start>Settings>System>Long Key Press

It assigns whatever function you select to your end key.

Re: Long key press application launch?

i thought the long press end key is limited to only a few choices... like mute/vibrate, lock, airplane mode, etc...
anyway, i think the op was asking about the back key, not end...

Re: Long key press application launch?

With GScroll you could assign a program to each button on the bottom of your phone and it opens it up with a double tap. But i think it cost $5

+1 on GScroll, but it can mess up the camera app and the zoom in on picture function.

Re: Long key press application launch?

I used GScroll, but I feel like it needs some further work. Hopefully my 5 dollars includes future upgrades lol.

As far as long back key press, I figured it out with AEButton Plus. I've got the trial version, which means I have to see a splash screen everytime I start my phone, but it's all good. I actually have long key press for all my keys except home. My center key opens task facade, and my long back key press opens file explorer. Single click functions remain default.

If you want the same, google AEButton Plus and download the trial. It's pretty self explanatory. Just select which key ou want to assign to and hold down on it with the stylus.

The easiest way that I know of is to use AE Button Plus ... it allows you to re-map buttons and assign functions to single, double, triple-click ... and long press ...
If you need a .CAB PM me ...

TP has issues with re-mapping the home and back buttons ... caused by TouchFLO3D I think .... theres a thread about it with fixes here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=41598
