Using the Alarm

I have been playing with my phone for three weeks now trying to get this to work and I can not figure it out....I am hoping someone out there has figured something out about this.

Is there any way to have the alarm ring but not have the phone make any noise when someone calls or I get a text or email?

I'd like to get through one night where the only thing waking me up is my alarm in the morning, not the sounds from phone calls, emails or text messages.

Thanks!!

Re: Using the Alarm

In the Clocks & Alarm settings, on the More page, is a checkbox to "Sound alarms even when the device is set to silent or vibrate." Now, I've never tested this function, but assuming it operates as advertised, you should be able to set your phone to silent when you go to bed, and with this box checked you'd still be awoken. Then you could set the phone back to volume for the day.

Re: Using the Alarm

yes, or you can download this touch friendly alarm that has that feature and many more: http://www.ageye.de/index.php?s=galarm/screens

It's g-alarm and allows you to put your phone on mute and still hear alarms. It works in conjunction with your windows alarm, so in touchflo3d and s2u2 it will show the alarm time you set with g-alarm nicely. It also has extra features for heavy sleepers like having to complete accelerometer driven mazes and math calculations before being able to shut the alarm off. If you choose to use this great alarm, make sure to go through the settings menu to set your preferences. Also, if you download this, make sure to set alarms through the g-alarm app. Oh, and it's extremely touch friendly, so no more tiny menus like with the default WM alarm. Hope this helps.

g-alarm is free*

Re: Using the Alarm

Or get an automatic profile switcher like PhoneWeaver (if you are using TF3D) or PhoneAlarm. Then set the Day profile to run minutes before your alarm.

Re: Using the Alarm

I downloaded G-Alarm and it is actually quite nice. I think I'm going to make it my default alarm. I like the calculations you have to do, cause I'm a hard sleeper. =P

This feature does work, I use it and I have all 3 alarms set. If you don't want to hear the other alerts you can go to Settings>Personal>Sounds and Alarms> click on Notification tab and in scroll down window disable e-mail and other alerts.
