Compatible Charges for the Touch Pro
Did a little searching around and didn't see an answer to the question can other brand chargers be used with the TP.
I have three Motorola USB chargers (for a Q and Razr), along with a car charger and was wondering if they would be compatible with the Touch Pro. Specs for the TP wall charger are Input 100-200, 0.2A 50-60Hz, Output 5v +/- 1A Specs for the Q wall charger are Input 100-200, 1.5A 50-60Hz, Output 5v +/- .850mA Doesn't make sense to go out an buy a new spare charger if this will work. Same question for a car charger. |
Re: Compatible Charges for the Touch Pro
I was in the same situation as you and I've been using my existing Motorola car charger and travel chargers with my TP without any issues whatsoever. Now I'm continuing to experiment with how to make those charges last longer!

Re: Compatible Charges for the Touch Pro
If it is a USB charger, it will work. Look up USB specs if you want to make sure a charger you have will work...

Re: Compatible Charges for the Touch Pro
Sprint sells car chargers for the Touch Pro, but they're more than they're worth, IMO ($25 I believe).

Re: Compatible Charges for the Touch Pro
As said many times before, mini usb cables will charge the Pro. You probably won't need to worry about checking the voltage because there is a tiny chance you will be using a dangerous voltage to charge your phone.

Re: Compatible Charges for the Touch Pro
USB usually supplies 5V at the least. The stock HTC wall charger supplies 1A, charging by PC and most car usb adapters usually supplies 500mA (0.5A) which is why it takes longer. HTC *does* make a 2A charger that people say works fine also.
