SMTP Port Setting

I am setting up my email from my domain which is hosted by GoDaddy. They require port 80 (go figure) for outbound authenicated email. I don't see where I can change the SMTP port settings in the advanced menus in the email program on the HTC Touch Pro. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Re: SMTP Port Setting

I read in a forum that you could specify a port by just using a colon. For example

smtpout.secureserver.net:80

I have been using GoDaddy for over 7 years. Port 25 works as well although it is not in their instructions. I have my phone setup with port 25 with no problem. Make sure you use their outgoing mail server and also make sure you set it up for authentication.

Their outgoing mail server is

smtpout.secureserver.net

When entering your user name you need to enter the whole e-mail address as the username, not just the part before the @

One of Sprint's roaming partners in Puerto Rico decided to block all outgoing port 25 connections so now I am using port 3535. But I use Flexmail which let's me change the outgoing port. Port 25 works fine when not roaming.

Re: SMTP Port Setting

Looks like I had the email setup correctly from the beginning. You have to enable relaying if authenicating or not for Godaddy email accounts. There is a drop down box in the control panel on the Godaddy site that lets you choose outside relaying.
