Doesn't have to be stolen. Could just be a phone on a delinquent account due to non-payment.
He can either switch to another carrier or reprogram the ESN. |

Re: Bad ESN (Sprint), what other networks can I use it with?
sorta along this thread.... can I use another carriers phone on Sprint? I've noticed the other local carriers have a MUCH cheaper TP than sprint is offering. And it doesn't matter where I look. For instance I saw this...http://www.letstalk.com/cell-phones/shop.htm
(change the brand to HTC to see what I'm talking about)

Sprint only allows their ESNs on their network, so unless you have a Sprint ESN and you can hack a phone to change it's ESN... good luck!

Also, I can confirm that Sprint's ESN database is still locked up tighter than Princess Leia to Jaba the Hut (a policy they may want to re-think, considering how that all turned out). They refused to allow me to port over my XV6800. Last edited by Silent_Patriot; 12-14-2008 at 11:56 AM. |
