What to use for .GIF images?

What are yall using to look at animated gif images? I opened one with the standard picture viewer and it lagged like CRAZY.

I know our phone can do it though. For instance, the animated gif that you see when you shut off your phone is very fluid, but in picture viewer it isnt.

Any suggestions? And any suggestions as to how I can change the file association so it opens with core player or something?
