HTC issues Touch Pro security update

HTC has issued a security update for the Touch Pro.. It fixes an issue with WAP security.. Go here for more info or go here for word from HTC about it...

DO NOT TRY TO INSTALL UNLESS YOU HAVE GSM!

IE7 gives me that type of error on my pc quite a bit for legit sites.

Would this update completely block those sites from being accessed on the TP? I'm not going to install it if that's the case.

I am not sure.. However.. I believe this is for when you are using Wi-Fi and not the Cellular connection... This fix I believe is to help reduce the amount of phishing that might be happening...

You need to use Active Sync to get the file onto your Touch Pro.. It is an .exe file..

When I tap the setup button for this fix on my TP i get a message saying this fix is not for my phone??

I Just Tried And It Wont Let Me Dl It To My Phone says wapenhance.exe is not a valid win32 app

is this for a GSM phone or a European phone? I can't find it on HTC US under Sprint upgrades!!

Like someone else just said... if it's an exe file you probably have to run it on your PC while connected via AS.

I thought the HTC instructions said to put the .exe file onto your phone and then execute it from the phone.

That being said, I transferred the file to my phone, but I haven't installed it yet...kind of waiting on some others to do it to see if it makes things better or not!! I got my TP working pretty sweet now and I'm hesitant to do anything to it that might screw it up!
