Connecting to Home Network - Filesharing
I saw in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=453348 that I should be able to actually log into my home network and access my file shares. I must be missing something because it's not working. I'd love to be able to this this working right. I do have network shares set up. I'm connected on wifi. I go to file explorer->Menu->Open Path->New Path and put in \\Laptopt2310\test which is the computer I want to connect to and a shared folder on that computer. I get a popup pointing to my wifi indicator saying cannot connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings. If I tap settings, it takes me to a connection set up where it says Verizon Wireless with some options under and My Work Network with some options under that. The advanced tab has a box for select networks and I have Verizon Wireless in the Internet box and My Work Network in the private network box. I don't want to touch anything there and screw things up. Any ideas on what might be wrong? This would be so much better than connecting the usb cable to get .cabs to the device. |
Re: Connecting to Home Network - Filesharing
Well, I figured out that I could also do this in resco and total commander.
Both of them connect fine on wifi. Not sure why file explorer doesn't, but I guess it doesn't really matter now. |
