Whats the scoop on VOIP?

So has anyone tried setting up VOIP yet on the TP? I am currently an owner of the 6700 and considering switching. One of the motives is the fact that VOIP on the 6700 sucks big time. I have a VOIP provider that allows BYOD and I think that the TP would be the device to try. I would hate to make the purchase and be disappointed since my 6700 is fine for me in most other ways.

I use fring, haven't tried Skype on it yet to make a call, but everything else works fine. I heard skype is running for some people on the TP. I would look for that thread.

I meant the native built in WM6 VOIP. the one you can provision yourself. I have SIP credentials that I would like to try... it sucks on 6700 but I was hoping to get some comments on the native abilities of WM6 and TP.

I am really interested in this as well it looks like the Touch Pro should be a very good device for this with proper mic/headset functionality but ive tried a few of the VOIP packages out there and have yet to get the home plugin to show up. I am not sure if they were GSM related or what have you.

As this is an interest of my own I gathered these links while I coincidentially ran across this thread.

Me personally I haven't tested any yet. When I get the chance I'm going to first try the voip config software links. If none of those work I'll be giving the htc raphael voip app a shot from the last xda link. As far as the openvpn link, if you have an asterisk you probably would want to give openvpn a go.
