Proximiter Sensor question

It appears as if my proximity sensor is working, but I have a question.

When I make a call and put the phone to my face, the screen goes off.

But, when I move the phone away from my face, the screen doesn't come back on.

Should it? What's the best way to make the screen come back on at that point? Hitting the power there is a bit of a pain, but I know that works.

I noticed the same thing. It seems like it should turn back on automatically.

I didn't even know the damned thing had a proximity sensor.

Mine doesn't seem to work. I make a call, then put the phone to my ear, check it a few seconds later, and the display is still on.

lol. I do not think it has a proximity sensor.

It is a light sensor, but it works better than a proximity sensor.

To be honest, my screen turns off when the call connects. I thought it was the sensor but I was wrong

mine stays on... and occasionally I'll hang up on the person when my face hits the END CALL bar. :-(

Re: Proximiter Sensor question

The light sensor acts as a proximity sensor that will turn off your screen within 10 seconds of connecting a call, but only if you have the "Auto adjust backlight" option enabled.

For reasons unknown to us, HTC didn't program the screen to switch back on upon removing the phone from your face. It does, however, turn back on upon ending the call.

Re: Proximiter Sensor question

Maybe someone can find a hack to turn it back on when it senses light again.

The capacitive touch areas do re-activate the screen, so I guess that'll do.

Hurrrr. I feel like a dolt.

I habitually turn off my screen anyway when I make a call. Just to avoid inadvertently pressing a button.

Mine doesn't turn off the screen after making a call. It seems to follow the normal backlight rules. I have the auto-adjust backlight on.
