I can't change the input type - onscreen keyboard

I can't select anything but 'keyboard' for iinput - which is a tiny little thing.

Until yesterday, I had a nice big buttons keyboard - which I assume is 'full qwerty'. All of a sudden yesterday the on-screen keyboard changed - I didn't do anything deliberately.

That doesn't mean I didn't accidentally do something - so I got to settings-input, and no matter what I choose in the dropdown box - it always goes back to keyboard.

I wasn't doing great with the on-screen keyboard to start with, there is no way possible to use the one I have now.
