Home Button

I noticed today that when i am in a program and press the home button it takes me back to the home screen/today screen as it should. But when I am on the home screen when i press home key again it doesnt open the start menu.. I tested this on a stock phone at the retail store and that is how it works but i only get back to the home screen no extra pushes will get me to the start menu.. i have to tap the windows start icon.. any ideas???

Re: Home Button

The home button is completely useless IMO, if you press the end key, it does the same thing. The only time i see it being useful is in call, but im used to not going to the homescreen in call.

I would remap the button, but my adventures with aebutton havent been so good. It gives a slight lag in between actually doing the function youve assigned to the button, just enough to annoy me.

The back button is useless too, i only use it in the camera app. I want to reassign both of them but in the registry and not by a program.

Re: Home Button

I agree the Home button is useless. The first thing I absolutely missed going from Apache to TP is the lack of total navigation via hardware buttons.

Re: Home Button

I use AE ButtonsPlus for the enter and volume keys... couldn't get it to work with home/back or send/end keys though.
You can set buttons to launch apps with one, two, three clicks; or long hold - pretty nice since we're lacking in the buttons department now
I mapped ok/close to long hold of the center d-pad

Re: Home Button

This doesn't really work at all for me. The home button still takes me to the home page even with trying to remap w/ AE.

As it says here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...=hardware+keys

"Now these two buttons *can* be mapped using AEBPlus, however, they can't be *re-mapped*."

AE button seems to be fighting w/ it every time I push it.

From what I've read, it works find as long as you dont user TF3D, but since I love TF3d... not going to happen.

If we could figure out how to make this button do something useful, we would make lots and lots of people happy.
