Opera Mobile Upgrade

I have a Verizon Touch Pro that came with Opera Mobile (9.5b2392) and I'm trying to upgrade to the newest Opera Mobile from their website (9.51b2723).

I had a few bumps along the way, but it looks like I now have the new version as my system default browser.

Still, I'm having a few issues.

1) It doesn't rotate when I put turn my phone to landscape. It only rotates to landscape if I pull out the keyboard. The ROM Opera rotated with the accelerometer. Was the ROM one a special build for phones of this type? Any way to get the new Opera to rotate?

2) In the TouchFlo3D browser tap, it still opens the ROM Opera. Any way to make that open the new version?

3) In start->programs, there's still an icon for the ROM Opera.

Any way to remove that?

I do like the newer Opera better. It seems to look a little nicer as far as both interface and pages and it seems a little faster.

Thoughts?

to remove the logo...go into file explorer...device...windows...down to start menu...programs...then just tab and hold to delete the logo

No that doesn't work (at least on mine). The start menu items for programs that are in ROM aren't in windows\startmenu\programs

Any other ideas?

I'm really mostly concerned about the first issue though.

When you install a new Opera you should get a task manager like the one in SKTools to stop all processes of Opera thats running before you install the new one. There are 2 processes of Opera running one is Opera9.exe and the other is OperaPreL.exe (these should be stopped before installing a new version)

The ROM Opera wasn't running when I installed the new one.

I only have the Touch Pro task manager. I would have seen the ROM Opera listed there, right?

Are you saying that once you (or others) installed the new Opera, that it took over the Browser tab in TouchFLO3D? Can someone confirm that please?

Yes... even tho Opera wasnt running it is still running in the background. I'll try searching for a free task manager that lets you view/close running processes because you need to pay for SKTools and the trial doesnt allow you to do much.

You could try this one. I never used it so cant confirm if this will work.

I found a process manager here
http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm

No version of Opera is running as either a service or a process, so I'm pretty sure ROM Opera wasn't running when I installed the new Opera.

I just need someone to advise if their install of the new Opera made the new Opera come up when clicking browser in TouchFLO3D tab.

If not, is there a way to fix that?

That's the same one I found and it works.

Still, same question though.
