Problem with display on remote desktop?

I have remote desktop working, I can control everything from my Pro... But the screen looks really bad, and when I go to properties it says 8 bit color quality and 640x480... It won't let me adjust either of those when I am connected...

Any thoughts?

Re: Problem with display on remote desktop?

Do tell us which RDC client you are using.

Also, prior to connect to the remote, the right softkey should be "Options". If youy click on it, it'll bring up the option for color being displayed and such.

At least that's what it says on mine.

Do keep in mind that RDC reduces the "fanciness" which take up a lot of bandwidth in order to provide a smooth operation.

I am using the RDC here : http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...36&postcount=9

I have it set to 256 color, it doesn't run very smoothe either... I am guessing becasue the image is poor.

You can't adjust the settings after you're already connected. You need to before you connect. Then you should be just fine.

the only options I see, I have set to 256 colors. But when I connect it it only allows 8 bit settings...

Do you mind showing how to set it up?

Lightbulb Re: Problem with display on remote desktop?

I use a different one, but from what I can tell it works the same and has the same menus.

As far as setting it up, when you go into Options, it will be on "256 Colors" by default, if you do the drop down you should see "High Color (16 bit)", just select that one.

On note, if you do not see the 16 bit option, make sure your server, or computer you are RDP'ing to is set to 16 bit or higher.
(On the server, or where ever you are rdp'ing to.. Start -> Control Panel -> Display.. On the Settings tab, Color quality should be Medium (16 bit) or higher.)

I'm unsure where you are RDP'ing to, I myself run a Windows 2003 server and if I recall, I had to set it to 16 bit (I'm unsure on this part, though.. can't remember if I had to set it or not).

I've tested it several times on my sprint tp, works flawlessly so far, only thing I can't figure out is how to zoom when full screen.

Hope this helps.
