Painfully Slow....

Is anyone else's TP just painfully slow? I disabled touch flo, have no third party apps running in the background, maxed out all of the Adv Config performance settings, and even flashed to JD's rom. The phone still runs so slow when typing especially, I can type a text a full sentence before the phone even realizes that the first letter has been pressed.

Is anyone else experiencing that or do I just have a bad egg? Any big performance tweaks outside of what I have tried?

Re: Painfully Slow....

Turn off word prediction/correction and T9? I have all those settings off, and have almost no lag on my KB... I say "Almost"...

Re: Painfully Slow....

Turned off those as well. I am using the hardware keyboard, but I wonder if using like NullKB would help at all.

Re: Painfully Slow....

Downloaded and am running the nullkb and it makes it maybe a little faster, but is still not able to keep up my typing. Any ideas? My build date is 10/17. Am wondering if I should 30 day exchange it.....

Re: Painfully Slow....

Did you Hard reset the phone after Buying it?

I press the Shift key and the space key, and then select T9 settings, and I unchecked all that. Then I went to Settings/Input and selected the tab Word Completion and unchecked all that. That fixed 98% of all the KB lag I had. If a Hard Rest and turning off the above items don't help, I don't know...

Re: Painfully Slow....

yeah i have hard reset it since I got it. I am actually posting this from the phone in opera and the keyboard lag is almost non existant. seems to just be in messages. i turned off all the adv config settings i had cranked to maximum, that may have been using too many resources. i'll try your suggestion about t9.

Re: Painfully Slow....

Interesting...I find the stock ROM bearable, but any of the newer ROMs make the phone very much usable and functional.
