Internet sharing

Won't stay connected. Might stay connected for 3 min., might stay for 10 min. Can't figure it out. There are no data apps running that are ending the connection. It always says "remote party has ended this connection" but my wife's Touch will stay connected. Any ideas? I am running a custom ROM.
