what version of .net?
I see alot of discussions on .net but what version is in the stock ROM. I have Alltel if it matters.

all stock roms are v2.0, >NetCF 3.5 Just went RTM not ot long ago so future roms will have it.
Most cooked roms have .NetCF 3.5 in them, like min for example has the RTM.

Is it service pack 2? I ask because I use a piece of software for geocaching called geoscout. And the publisher also has a link for .net compact 2 SP2. Just wondering if I need to load it.

Kind of sucks for the masses though, because many new programs will not work with the 2.0. You would think HTC and the carriers would release updates for this alone. Just go custom and you wont be dissapointed.

you should be fine, though 3.5 runs everything noticibly faster.
