Change the "From" address

I was given the option at work to get a blackberry or have them pay for my own cell service...I chose for them to pay my cell service and have the TP. The great thing about the crackberry is the email from our office is sent directly to the phone. I got around this with the mogul by setting up a personal email account and forwarding all the emails to there and downloading them on the mogul. I could change the sent from email address to look like my work email address. For some reason on the TP it will not send emails this way and gives me an error. Anyone know of a way around this...I don't wont them to force me into a blackberry.

Re: Change the "From" address

Which email service does your work use? Can you just set it up directly on your TP? I have 4 different accounts (3 business - 1 prsonal) that are all set up and check every 30 minutes/push through. When I reply, I am actually using that account to reply.

Re: Change the "From" address

We use a lotus domino server. So I forward all emails to my home email ****@earthlink.net, and have that account setup on my phone. On my mogul I could change the from email address to *********@absconsulting.com with no problems...now with the TP it says it can not connect to the outgoing mail server. Be certain that the server name is correct, then try again to send and receive...
I am not looking for push email or syncing directly with the email server..I just want my email sent with a return address of ****@absconsulting.com from my earthlink account.

Re: Change the "From" address

Does your Earthlink setup have that feature in their control panel? They may allow address masking if you check.
