Opera and mobile sites

I notice that various mobile sites do not display well on Opera, i.e. they load as if the screen width were very wide and very deep, and are shown in "tiny view" on Opera.

Other mobile sites, for example Google, display properly on Opera, full-size and not requiring a double tap to zoom in on.

Why is this, and is there any way to avoid this? Enabling Mobile view on Opera isn't an option, as it doesn't work very well.

Re: Opera and mobile sites

I kinda got that issue on viewing the facebook.com site... The full version... If you enable Opera to open as a regular desktop-like web browser, it comes up as Internet Explorer 6... A lot of websites code their web pages specially for Internet Explorer... And IE 6 is old... So not all the code on those websites are good when viewed with IE 6 ( Opera 9.5).. I am pretty sure thats why... Sorry if that doesn't make sense...

Re: Opera and mobile sites

Well my concern is more specifically with mobile sites that behave like full-sized sites, so you get huge dead spaces around a little small-screen formatted content, and the screen comes up in a tiny unreadable font.
