Question Hard vs soft keyboard

I have had my TP for little over a day now and I have mainly stayed with using the Full Qwerty software keyboard instead of the sliding keyboard... I mainly chose the TP over the Diamond for the sliding keyboard... (besides the SD card, but that's for another thread...)

I am interested in those who have had the TP for a while now... Which keyboard to you tend to use? The software version or the sliding keyboard?

Re: Hard vs soft keyboard

Always used resco kb, it is fast or may be I am. Then I do not write paragraphs at the time, I like to keep it simple.... I can give up the hard keyboard for other features....

Definitely the slide out keyboard. I can't stand using the stylus and when I try to do the softkeys via my huge manly fingers, i get misspelled words and stuff.

Re: Hard vs soft keyboard

I use the hardware keyboard for texting and typing and general use. I may use the soft keyboard for editing something quickly, but it's got to be very minimal.

I use the heck out of the slide out hardware keyboard.

Re: Hard vs soft keyboard

The big reason I got the TP and got rid of my touch was bc I wanted a "hardware keyboard", but I find myself using the touch screen full qwerty keyboard more.

Re: Hard vs soft keyboard

Couldn't live without the hardware keyboard. I had a 6700 and loved it for that reason. Then I had the Touch, which I loved for its form factor and interface. The TP is the perfect marriage between the two. Even if the keys are smaller than those of the 6700, the hardware keyboard is still invaluable.

Re: Hard vs soft keyboard

I use the compact qwerty for quick entries. But I use the HW keyboard for 95% of my input.

I'm with you on that too. My fat-fingers just don't like the small software keys.

Re: Hard vs soft keyboard

I use an iPhone skin on the PCM keyboard for my software keyboard for small things like quick texts, but the hardware keyboard when taking notes, writing journal entries, long emails, etc.

Re: Hard vs soft keyboard

Sliding Keyboard FTW! It's really nice. I almost went with the Diamond because I didn't know how well I liked the feel of the buttons, but after almost 3 weeks I am hooked on the physical keyboard.

That being said, I do RARELY use the software keyboard w/ T9 for texting while driving (Which is totally Illegal here in Minnesota by the way!)
