Too many soft resets...

...Is there such a thing? I've found that after some heavy browser sessions & running other apps (even after closing everything) my RAM usage is higher than it should be, and the TP starts getting a little 'laggy.' So, I've been hitting the soft reset button to reboot.

Is that an OK thing to do, or is it not advisable to do a lot of soft resets? I can't imagine why it would be a problem, but if there's a better way to make this thing blow its nose, so to speak, I'd love any advice...

Thanks!

Re: Too many soft resets...

I think there should be a program that dumps the RAM like Oxios. Anyone got some suggestion like that for the TP?

I think thats why the iPhone runs so smooth. They have certain key programs stored in memory or something. And when **** gets hectic, it frees up what it can. Thats why they having a hard time coming out with certain features people want like video recording, flash, full screen KB, copy and paste... because their memory usage would be comprimised to their standards, and the phone wouldn't be so "smooth".

Re: Too many soft resets...

Soft resets are no different than a reboot on a PC... I don't really see how it could hurt anything.

Make sure, however, that you're actually closing them through the Quick Task Manager menu (or configuring it to force exit via X) ... by default the X in WinMo doesn't mean exit, so they're just running in the background. To change this, click the top right menu from the home page, and click the toolbar for the options.

Yep, should have mentioned that this is my default - I always close apps when done with them. For whatever reason though it still gets a tad sluggish after a lengthy browsing session or running certain intensive apps.

Thanks for the replies, fellas.
