Re: Has anyone sucessfully printed from Pro???
i used the built in app to print to my HP photosmart c6280 over my network. the printer list is old but i guess i lucked out by just picking one close to my printer. it prints out a test sheet when you get it right. it's nice to be able to print emails without going to get my laptop or use my main computer.

Re: Has anyone sucessfully printed from Pro???
ok ok ok , help me out with this then. i dont have a network but am about to set one up in my house, i have 2 cpus, 2 laptops, 2 TPros, and a PS3 all of which can connect to a network, i HATE having to go to main cpu to print. once i set the netowork up, i still have to see if the TPro has my printer on it list. if so, where is this list at?
i have a bluetooth brinter as well but i cant get the PRO to connect to it for some reason, they NEVER find each other. -Chez |

When you open the app, you go to add new printer. You can choose the brand, and in my case since my printer wasn't listed, I went with the closest thing. If it is a LaserJet, pick a laserjet, and keep adding until it prints the test page for you. When you see up the network, you can give it the network path to the computer the printer is installed on or use the IP of the printer if it has one.

Re: Has anyone sucessfully printed from Pro???
First off...
Is your printer shared? Second... Is your guest account enabled? (or are you using a username and password to connect?) I don't have an XP box in front of me, but, the steps are close to the same: Before you do much, connect to your wireless network/AP. Then, Vista x64, not in a domain: Right click on my computer, select manage. Select Local users and groups Select Users Right Click on Guest UNcheck the box that says 'Account is disabled' Click OK Close the management window. Open 'Printers' from control panel Right Click on the printer you want to share, select 'sharing' Check the check box on the Sharing tab 'Share this printer' Name is something easy... 'printer' Hit the Security Tab click 'add' type guest, then 'check names' - you should get a computername\guest that is underlined. Click OK Click OK TP: Open JETCET Add Network Printer Select 'Connected to a network domain server or workgroup with a share name' in the bottom window 'enter a printer path to a workgroup or computer with a shared printer' you need to type in your share name. To find this, either figure out your computer name, or your computer IP address. Computer name: Control Panel, System - your computer name is listed in there. IP address: (XP) Start, Run, CMD, ok, ipconfig - your IP is probably 192.168.x.x Vista: Orb, CMD (enter), ipconfig My computer name is 'MONSTER' or '192.168.1.9' so, on your TP, you want to enter your path like this: \\computer\printer My specific examples can be \\MONSTER\printer or \\192.168.1.9\printer once you get that typed in, click next Select your mfg and model number - or something reasonably close. If you don't have your printer listed, or anything close - I'd select HP's LaserJet Monochrome Series - this is typically a very generic printer driver that will print to almost anything else. Don't expect color to work with this driver. It will ask you to give your printer a nick name, and print a test page. Name it what you'd like, and print a test page. Select your paper size (Letter is 8.5x11) and select next. ... you should have a piece of paper coming out of your printer a couple seconds later. *IF* for some reason you get prompted for a username, password and domain, enter your windows login information... your domain in most cases will be your computer name. (I figure that any of you who are actually part of an AD domain will know your domain, username and password info) Press Finish, and now you should have a shortcut to your printer in JETCET

Re: Has anyone sucessfully printed from Pro???
I have a HP C6180. I went into setup/wireless/display wireless summary and the entered in the IP address it displayed for me.
Found my printer and printed a test page. I flash a lot, so I'd like to know where the settings are so that I can add it into Sashimi. |
