Canon .AVI's..not too friendly w/ Win Mobile

While I believe that Canon makes some of the best digital cameras out there, their use of Motion JPEG (mjpg) codecs in their .AVI's has always been a hassle. It is a pain streaming them to my xbox 360 and now it is a pain running them on my touch pro. Can I simply download the correct codec to my TP or can anyone recommend a media player that will just play them. I've tried Kinoma as well as WM player.

To play them just fine on your PC, get the CCCP codec pack (integrates nice with Win Media Player). http://www.cccp-project.net/

As for playback on Win Mobile, i've always used TCPMP or better yet CorePlayer. I have an SD 750 and never had any issues with the avi files. Matter of fact they're run of the mill types, nothing odd or complex about them.

Use CorePlayer, works like a charm.

Either way, those videos are going to be such a high data rate and large format that the phone will play them back at like 3fps... Getting them to play wont make a difference... I could be mistaken, but most videos from newer handheld cameras with video functions are rather intensive...
