If you have a custom rom, you will want to go back to stock and go back to the standard boot loader. Right now, there is not a way to do this because there is not a stock ROM that will work with the standard boot loader. Once Sprint/HTC releases the 1st official ROM update, you can simply flash using it.

You can still get service with a non-stock ROM or bootloader, but its best to play it safe so they have no reason to reject your request.

Short answer:

If your phone is still locked, you're usually fine.

If you're not flashing new roms, you have no reason to be concerned. Modifying stuff is just like installing new programs, doesn't void anything. Heck, all it takes is a hard reset at that point to put it back to the same way it was out of the box.

No. Mod to your heart's content! And you don't have to worry about hard resetting either. Hell, I used to take my Mogul in all the time for "service" (they would just order me another one and never fixed my issues other than once) and they would ask me to put everything I had on my Mogul on their's. :lol:
