CABs ROM and APP makers help me out here :D

Hey there, i'm going to ask this question because i can't seem to find the answer anywhere else and I think an answer would be genuinely helpful for those that like to help themselves (I TRIED! ).

I have a program to make cabs, cabwiz, makes the process easy... but I want to know how do you make them the HARD way... if there is such a thing? Also, are there any guides that can help me out in learning how to make cabs and such.

Second, if i have a cab file for a program and i want to expand or extract the programs from the cab file how exactly do i go about doing this. When i install them onto my phone the result i achieve is DRASTICALLY different than just extracting a cab onto my desktop. How do i end up with all of the jpgs used in the cab or the .exe itself which the cab install creates?

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

I believe the MS CAB Wizard from the Windows Mobile SDK would be a good start.

Folder that says cab wiz contains cabwiz but the application that actually uses it is called "quick cab" now where abouts can i find that portion of Windows Mobile SDK... PM me if needed *wink*... and also are there any guides that go along the lines of teaching me how to do all of this. I created a cab for a skin for an existing app using that whole "easy cab" program posted on XDA but I want to learn how to do it the appropriate way and hopefully in the process learn more.

I think the Windows Mobile SDK can be found on MSDN, let me poke around, I had it the other day.

Looks like it's a trial DVD only....you have to have VS 2005 or 2009 as well. :/

But this looks promising:

I use Windows CE cab manager, I believe it costs money I remember it being kinda hard for me to track down but it does work very well.
