So...I e-mailed HTC tech about the keyboard backlight...

So, I finally got tired of searching for a way to hack or reg edit the keyboard backlight. I decided to e-mail HTC tech support and asked them if there is a work around with registry and/or a DLL hack...here is the response:

Thank you for your inquiry

I know how frustrating it can be to not have your device function the way it should. Unfortunately the keyboard backlight on the Touch Pro is hardware controlled. You may be able to adjust the backlight settings to prolong the keyboard backlight time by going to Start >> Settings >> System >> Power >> Advanced and adjusting the backlight timer to your preferred time.

So...that sucks, but also sounds like they may not know what they're talking about. Who knows, but this still sucks.

Yeah, sounds like some BS. Why would they limit it to be hardware controlled? That was just stupid!

man, theres 2 things i hate about my touch pro

1. no freakin scroll

2. keyboard light sucks

I think through testing dll and some reg hacks that its been determined that its not hardware controlled. At least that is my belief. We have already seen that MicroP.dll controls all the leds including the keyboard backlight, so now its a matter of either modifying it or someone making a new driver/app to control it.

If I had the proper software to decompile MicroP.dll, I would do so and fix that stupid thing.
