Verizon Phone as Modem charges?

Ok, I just dont want to get into it, but... we just got our all-Verizon's-fault (HTC's, technically) $10,000 phone bill down to only $100 over or so...

before I try this phone as a modem thing...

Can any Verizon users CONFIRM that they don't find out and charge you for it?

<sigh>

I would appreciate the help, fellow VZ-slaves!

thx
kc

Re: Verizon Phone as Modem charges?

When I had Verizon I stuck to PDANet for my tethering. Never had any problems or extra charges on my bill. Hope this helps.

Re: Verizon Phone as Modem charges?

Just don't abuse it. If you download 20GB and start running torrents you'll get flagged.

Re: Verizon Phone as Modem charges?

Yeah thats sound advice. I used it as a backup for when my Comcast service would go out, just for basic web-browsing or when travelling.

Re: Verizon Phone as Modem charges?

I use my Phone as Modem through ICS semi frequently, never had any charges. also, why would you be flagged for downloading 20gb worth of stuff? you can do that on your phone as well, not just through a laptop or desktop

Re: Verizon Phone as Modem charges?

Even though its "Unlimited" They flag you at 5GB/month and then limit the speed. So "unlimited" is the biggest lie they tell you.

Re: Verizon Phone as Modem charges?

Hi all, I have a fifteen dollar add on feature to my account that is called broadband connect or something similar to that. The Verizon rep that sold it to me told me that as long as I kept my data usage to under 5gb a month there would be no additional charges. After the 5gb they would start charging me per megabyte. So far I have been careful not to use much data at all.
