****!!! I already have a scuff on my screen

The stock screen protector peeled back slightly in my pocket... In that small spot I now have a scuff mark. When the screen is active you can't notice it but when it is off it is VERY visable

Is there any screen buff type stuff that actually works?

Re: ****!!! I already have a scuff on my screen

there were some posts stating that the screen is covered by a thin layer of plastic or something like it, if you buff it its not really going to help. but idk how accurate that is. if its glass you probably dont want to use anything too harsh to buff it out.

best idea would be to leave it as is, or pay $50 to replace thru insurance...

Hmmm, Best Buy tried telling me that it would cost me $125 to replace the Pro through sprint...

Asurion. But for a small scuff? I would just sleep on it. I dropped my Diamond on the 2nd day I had it. I was sooo devastated. But after 3 or so days... I got over it. I I did end up returning it for the PRO.

Re: ****!!! I already have a scuff on my screen

Don't put it in your pocket. Extra pressure is sure to break the touchscreen. Also closed confined spaces and probably little airflow is not good on the battery - with jeans as least. That's not the only problem. There's some potential that overtime all the little dust and lint in your pocket will get under the touch screen. If you wanna put in your pocket, get a thin, padded and perforated carry case with belt clip and slip the clip over the pocket and the case into the pocket with the phone.

asurion replacements are $50 best buy was probably trying to sell you thier warranty. and its probably never a good idea to put your phone in your pocket unprotected, very likely stuff like this will happen.

Re: ****!!! I already have a scuff on my screen

I carry my Diamond(and previously my Touch) in my jeans pocket all the time without any case or screen protector. It is the only thing I carry in that pocket so there is nothing to scratch it and with the price of these phone I carry insurance. As for lint build-up, it does happen. Every once in a while, stop by a repair center, tell them your phone is acting a little flakey at times, and they will clean it out for you for free. I have tried screen protectors before on both phones and did not like them on either phone, but even the screen on my 14 month old Touch looks like new.

But of course, everyone has their own preference on protection and I don't blame people for being worried about scratching up their new expensive toy.

I also carry in my front jeans pocket and I also notice the the lint. It kinda sucks that the build of these phones allows minor gaps between the screen and buttons and the casing.

Re: ****!!! I already have a scuff on my screen

see i had a big problem with scratches on the diamond, and they came from my fingernails, not notable at first however after a month of use they were all over the place when i didn't use the screen protector, just a word of advise. my keys go in my jean pocket so putting my phone there is out of the question.

to each thier own.
