EV indicator during SMS

I couldn't find anything on this, so maybe it's just me, or it's a standard thing I haven't previously been aware of...

But I have noticed that when I am sending an SMS the EV indicator switches to the 1X icon. Once the message sent confirmation appears, it flips back to EV. Is this normal, or has anyone else noticed it?

This is normal operation. phone and texts run on the 1X network. Makes it easy to know when you are about to get a call or text.

Yeah...I figured that was standard behavior. Not like I would have known coming from a crappy old Moto KRZR. If that phone hadn't gotten me such killer reception I would've tossed it out a window long before my 2yr upgrade!
