how to play videos?

Ok, I'm new to the whole PPC thing. I have used a palm pilot in the past and could run videos, but this is stumping me. I've moved a couple vids into my sd card, but wmp won't recognize them. Just mpg format. The only vids the player recognizes are in the device itself. Where do I need to place the vids on the sd card so that the phone plays them?

Re: how to play videos?

it won't recognize them... even a simple mpg. I've tried moving onto a spot in card that's free (not in any folder), then to the media with the other vid that does work, but nothing

Re: how to play videos?

I must be completely lost. I got divx to install and play the demo vids, but any vids I install won't play. I can't believe I'm having this much trouble with this. I'm trying to install wallpaper without Touchflo running and am even stumped at that!... *sigh*... ok I'll keep trying, but if anybody has any ideas I'd be greatly appreaciative!

Windows media player is terrible
Try TCPMP, it's famous around these forums... the one here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=380387 has plugins built in. Just install, open, go to file and open your video (keep in mind your video file should be optimized for playback on a phone for smooth picture). I use http://www.pocketdivxencoder.net/EN_index.htm to encode my video files...

or if that doesn't work try kinomafreeplay... http://kinoma.com/freeplay/download/ (also doubles as a nice mp3 player, the new version auto rotates!)

Those are all free; but If you want to purchase a nice media player, search for CORE PLAYER - it's the updated version of TCPMP, which looks nice and plays excellently.

If you can't get your video to play with those, then you're doing something very very strange lol.

To change wallpaper without touchflo3d enabled... go to start menu > click settings > personal > today > at the bottom click on "use this picture as the background and then browse for the wallpaper you want on your phone to pick one (FYI: make sure this wallpaper is on your device storage not storage card! never install anything that your system uses on the card cause it's known for going to sleep and causing problems when things try to access files from there. I only use the card for music, videos, pictures and games).

Goodluck, shoot me a PM if you need anything else, lateR
