Gmail is causing poutlook to crash

My gmail account (imap in poutlook) closes itself out when I am polling the server. When I inititate a send/receive I watch the data connection become active- the headers begin check- then suddenly the data connection goes dormant and I poutlook closes. Then the data connection goes active and the new emails come in requring me to re-open outlook to read. 70% of the time this happens.

anyone else?

Re: Gmail is causing poutlook to crash

Yes I'm having the same problem but with a comcast account (pop3) about 90% of the time, and with another pop3 account less frequently maybe 30% of the time. Its annoying to say the least.

Re: Gmail is causing poutlook to crash

Tried the patch, made no difference in fact almost seems to have made it worse.

What I have noticed is that it rarely does it when there is NO mail to download and seems to happen when only when actually receiving messages.

If in tf3d and select messaging and then send/receive from the menu it goes to a black screen momentarily and then a screen that says "launching touchflo3d" and then back to the home screen but then the new messages count will appear on the message tab

From the regular inbox view, selecting send/receive results in it abruptly returning to the home screen (skipping the launching touchflo3d part) and then the message count appears on the message tab.

I have 3 POP3 accounts all three through different providers (gmail, godaddy and comcast) and it happens with them all, but most consistently with comcast. Have tried repeatedly to delete and recreate but it has no effect.

Re: Gmail is causing poutlook to crash

Have you tried setting up Gmail with IMAP to see if the behavior changes?

Re: Gmail is causing poutlook to crash

seeing this too i have a gmail IMAP and an exchange on my diamond, but same phone pretty much. Crashes poutlook and goes back to launching Tflo. Getting annoyed with WM lately now. These new HTC's are buggier than my old touch and 6700 ever were

Re: Gmail is causing poutlook to crash

hmm I wonder what's causing this. I have my phone sync'd to an exchange account and Gmail IMAP and I'm not seeing this kind of activity.
