My Tp Is Slower Then Any Phone

So this is me. I just got the TP. It is so slow. The text messages dont keep up with how fast i type. The screen is super slow when it switches back and fourth from sliding out the keyboard and putting it back to the closed position. I am a previous owner of the Palm 700wx. I only got the HTC Touch pro cause it was a little closer to the iphone then what i had. The biggest reason i got it was for the MMS picture messaging. First is anyone else having the isssues about being super laggy? Second do i just go to the 800w and download the smms patch for it so i can have picture messaging? I like the GPS, and Sprint TV factors but they both have it. I also thought that HTC TP would be smaller the the 700wx but i heard the 800w is smaller now too! Please repost as soon as possible i think im going in tomorrow for an exchange.

Re: My Tp Is Slower Then Any Phone

1. Did you try a hard reset? Some people have reported it that this speeds things up for them.

2. Try turning off T9 (if you have it on) and see if that speeds up your typing.

I can't imagine how the 800w or 700wx for that matter would be faster than the Touch Pro when the Touch Pro has more RAM and a faster processor... Perhaps the stock ROM on the Touch Pro is fairly loaded, but I'd stick it out as I'm sure custom ROMs will unleash the true potential of this device

I have done both. It just seems bogged down with information. Like the 3d thing that it has takes up so much. That it can barely function.

I have the same issue when switching back and forth between the keyboard and back. I'm hoping that a custom rom will speed it up.... fingers crossed.

you dont have any issues going back and fourth from opening the qwerty and closing it and watching the screens try and go back and fourth. I wish i could see a video. Cause maybe mine is just defective.

Re: My Tp Is Slower Then Any Phone

I have to agree. I purchased Touch Pro to replace a Treo 755p (palm based). I really love all the features of the TP, but I am finding it really slow and awkward to use. I'm going to stick with it for a few weeks at least to make sure it isn't just the change in OS that I'm not used to. The lag in switching programs is really annoying though.

Same thing here. Purchased from Best Buy for $239...and still got another $70 credit from Sprint, even though I was only one year into contract. The deal was so good, I REALLY want to like the phone, but right now, it looks like I may be headed for a return in a few weeks.
