I haven't installed the cabs so I don't know their functionality. The zip file contains many files. The main files that I was talking about was NavDbgTool.exe. It displays the location that you are touching at the lower section of the phone. It is a pretty significant feature that many were not aware of or weren't 100% sure of in this phone. With custom program launchers that support this feature we can add lots of shortcuts. Scroll, zoom slide to unlock (though this phone fixed the need for that) and many things.

The file HTCSensorDemoAP.exe displays the reading of the light sensor located by the earpiece and the accelerometer chip.

Just having fun.

Re: Definite proof of capacitive bottom

this is old news guys. this has been known for ages.

every Diamond and PRO CSM or CDMA all have the capacitive touch panel built into the hardware buttons.

nothing takes advantage of this yet though. besides these debug tools.

Re: Definite proof of capacitive bottom

There was rumor that the Diamond's capacitive abilities were removed for Sprint which is why this news is still relevant.

Anyway, I do find it interesting that it's actually not true multi-touch. It can register simultaneous touches on opposite sides of the wheel, but not on the same side.

I'm pretty sure that you and others with advance tech knowledge have know of this for some time. The thing is I'm sure that there are others had no clue that the whole bottom panel had that feature. I made this post to just spread that info that I was surprised by.

Re: Definite proof of capacitive bottom

Yes... this is VERY old news,
but amazing none the less.

I was hoping that I could use the capacitive ability instead of pressing down, but I guess it's not gonna happen.

I'm guessing this is something that's going to be utilized in future Windows Mobile releases as currently I don't think there are drivers that support it for use on 6.1

That debug.exe supports it and it is running in 6.1 so it is possible.

Going around the button clockwise or counterclockwise zooms in some programs (such as opera) - nifty if you ask me.. -m
