Re: Vibrate not working with text messages

That might have been it. I had to enable notifications to make sure the alarm worked. I am pretty sure I had it disabled when I first got my phone because I thought it would make a ring sound if it was enabled. I guess I didn't need to worry if I set everything on vibrate but left the notifications box checked.

From your screen, go to Start (upper left corner), click on it and then go to Settings at the very bottom of the list that appears. Once in there you should see an icon labeled Sounds and Notifications (Personal tab). Click on that icon and then you will see the checkboxes that cmilviper is referring to.

Re: Vibrate not working with text messages

Wonder if there is a hack to increase the vibration strength?

Re: Vibrate not working with text messages

Then you may need to do a hard reset to get the vibrate working when receiving texts. As for increasing strength of vibrate I don't think that is a feature on any phone but a hack can be done to change the vibrate pattern I am sure. My old flip phone could be set for example to vibrate three short bursts if it was a text... three long bursts if a voice call, etc.
