the pro can obviously be used as a scanner with letter recognition as demonstrated by worldcard. are there any scanning programs available that would work with a whole page of text.

Hell yeah thats a good idea. It has to be possible if it can read a business card.

The thing that amazes me is the speed at which the recognition occurs. I have tried some nasty cards that had extraneous marks and other issues, yet the recognition took place. I wonder if there is any way to train the program.

Maybe, just noticed on Sprint Software store Scanlife Barcode Scanner has been released. Trying out now.

May need a new thread but with scanlife I cannot get camera in focus enough to get a good scan on a barcode. I think their release may be premature.
