choppy video stream from Orb

I am streaming video from my PC to my Pro. The video in media player is very choppy. I have tryed adjusting the stream speed for Orb on the touch pro broswer.....still the same. Any ideas?

Re: choppy video stream from Orb

You could try using Kinoma Freeplay (which can connect to Orb directly) or use TCPMP with the wmv plugin (as the replacement for WMP by chaging file associations).

I'm currently using Kinoma as TCPMP seems to crash on me after playing a orb stream for 20 sec. Both of them run orb streams at pretty close to full speed over a stable EVDO or wifi connection.

Re: choppy video stream from Orb

Manually set your speed at the bottom of the page instead of letting it figure it out automatically. It'll usually over-estimate your speed, or estimate the best your connection can do, and then stream at that speed which your connection can't hold up to.

EDIT: Sorry, looks like I missed your comment about that. Definitely try TCPMP, instead, and make sure you associate it to ASX files. There are also some adjustments you can find if you search the forums to adjust the buffer rates and such which should help.

Re: choppy video stream from Orb

Kinoma works well for me. While your watching a movie if it gets choppy you can go into the settings and do a network speed test and it will adjust the bitrate down. I used this option often on my q9 in the car but didn't have to once on the same drive with the tp.
