my storage card is not working correctly

I have loaded a couple of programs to the card, and they work fine, but if I choose 'settings/system/memory'. it says there are not storage cards installed. It is not seen in file explorer, either. I can view the contents of the card on my PC (while it is installed in the phone).
I tried formatting the card as FAT and FAT32, and neither made a difference.
I have tried two different cards, one that came with the TP, and a 4GB that I used on my Mogul.

Any ideas?

Ron
