Re: Touch Pro Keyboard Backlight

The uneven light issue is there, but not a big deal as it serves it's purpose "to see the keys in low light situations."

Now if somebody knows how to keep it from turning off within 10 seconds that would be great. Oh and before you point out the qkeyledtimeout thing. Yeah, it dont work.

Also if HTC would have decided to add more leds to the keyboard area, power consumption would be minimal. Watch batteries can power larger leds for months.
Our TP's have a lot more power than watch batteries, well at least when we take it off the charger that is.

Re: Touch Pro Keyboard Backlight

Uneven doesn't bother me, but the quick timeout is driving me crazy! Auto-on when opened and a 30 second timeout would be perfect.

The Mogul didn't have either of these problems.

So glad to have dedicated number keys again(!) and a "$" just a fn+ away. But why no "start" and "ok" buttons? I'm really missing all of the hardware buttons on the Mogul.

Mine is only slightly brighter at the top but evenly distributed otherwise. Overall very nice and I'm completely satisfied. The backlight does turn off quickly.

Same.

I searched the registry for a few minutes and did not see anything regarding the keyboard backlight time. We really need this.

Re: Touch Pro Keyboard Backlight

I have very uneven kb bl as well. I can barely see from the 3rd row and down. Pretty freakin' annoying....especially in dimly lit situations. As well, this is a design flaw....can't be fixed with a hack or ROM fix.

But I'll tell you what. I LOVE THIS ****ING PHONE. It could have NO backlight and I'd still love it.

Re: Touch Pro Keyboard Backlight

I have the same poor distribution of light as well. As was said already, it's not bad enough that any of the keys are dark, they are all bright but my #2, and #3 on the top row are super bright comparatively. I know it's not a big deal, but really, we are talking about a $600 flagship phone for a carrier like Sprint. Do you think we could have put a couple of lower powered LED's, rather than 1 bright one?

I will say this, I do like the color of the touch pro's keys over my old 6800.

Re: Touch Pro Keyboard Backlight

Even my 10/26/2008 dated phone has a slightly uneven lighting to it... the entire number row is considerably brighter than the others, but otherwise it's fairly consistent. My only gripe is not being able to force the backlight on/off.
