LOL, I just went & tried this again to make sure I hadn't missed something.

When I turn off the shutter sound, that is exactly what it does -(it turns off the sound period). At least in my TouchPro anyway, turning off the shutter sound does not affect the auto-focus function in any way at all (nor should it)

I think what it does is when eleminating the sound it makes the camera more responsive so, when takeing the picture you do not have to stay still longer, and the pictures come more clearer and less blurry.
At least that what I expreiances with the Mogul!

Not sure if this helps but if you click on the screen while on camera mode---> white balance....take that option of Auto and set it to the indoor setting and you will notice an improvement on the auto focus/snapshot time......Hope this helps

When you place your thumb on the center button to focus, that is disabled. But when I click to take a picture, it focuses and takes a picture.

In other words, NOTHING is disabled. We need a way to turn off the auto focus totally when desired, with that enabled it is virtually impossible to take a decent shot of a person or animal.......(unless they're sound asleep)

It sure would be nice if someone would figure out how to do this I cant take a picture of anything that is even slowly moving. Very Irritating

I read somewhere that auto focus is disabled when the keyboard is out, if true there must be reg edit somewhere.
